William Cole and the Maltings

Post by Cole »

My father was born in Bures and my grandfather worked at the Maltings at the turn of 19/20th cent.(I think). He then moved to Felixstowe Maltings and was subsequently killed in first world war in 1917.
Has anyone any lists of Maltings workers spanning the relevent period?
My grandfather was William COLE and I believe he was born in 1885.
I would be grateful for any help.

Dear Fellow Family History Member! - I'm sorry not to have more pertinent info to impart, but I too have Bures maltster ancestry - only recently discovered so info is sparse at the moment, however, if I find anything possibly relevant to your search I will let you know - in the meantime, my search continues for info re maltings at Bures and how/where my ancestors (Crossmans) lived at 'Croft Fields' in 1881 and poss a little before, and a lot after! Good luck in your family puzzle search! Sue Crossman
