Bures Message Board

My husband's great x 9 grandfather was a John Simson, rector of Mount Bures in the mid 1600's. Is there a history of the church/parish anywhere that I can read? Can't easily get to Mount Bures - is there a record of rectors anywhere? Many thanks, Christine Callow.

I dont know of any records held at the Church any longer
I suspect they are all now kept at the RO at Chelmsford ( Essex )
