Hello,

Does anyone know anything about Johannes de Stubley, the person who is listed as Chaplin from June 3rd 1382 until April 9th 1385?

I know that it is a long shot, but records of anyone with this surname are very few and far between from that era; and apart from the sale of Stubley Hall in 1330 by Nicholas, John de Stubley I have drawn a blank. However, that transaction took place in Littleborough near Rochdale so I have no idea if the two people have direct family connections.

Even the smallest snippet on of info on Johannes might help; such as if there are any records hinting at where he came from prior to his appointment, or where he went after leaving.

Thanks in anticipation of any information there might be,

John Stubley
