From NXEA -
We are pleased to report that an agreement has been reached with London Midland to sub-lease two Class 153 diesel multiple units to NXEA to cover for the Class 156 train which was seriously damaged in the incident on the Sudbury line in August (when a lorry driver went onto a user-controlled level crossing without permission and caused a collision).

It is hoped that the transfer can be completed within the next two weeks, enabling the trains to go into traffic from Monday, 1st November.
The completion of this deal is good news for our customers on both the Norwich – Ipswich – Colchester – London route and the local routes radiating out of Ipswich and Norwich.
It means that the medium term and short term alterations to services (including rolling stock substitutions, changes of train on route and cancellations), which have been taking place since August, will no longer be necessary.
The extra Class 153s will remain with us until repairs to the Class 156, which are expected to take many months, are complete.
