Track renewed at Lamarsh and from Fordham Bridge to Chappel.
During July 2005 the line
was closed for essential track maintenance work. This involved renewing
sections of track between Lamarsh and Bures at an estimated cost of
£3m. Apart from the section between Bures station and Mount
Bures crossing there is now continous welded rail from Lamarsh to
Chappel
Various Balfour Beatty track machines were on site together with a
large number of class 66`s hauling ballast and track.
