Statement of Intent

The proposed dwelling is intended to be constructed as a self-build project for the applicant’s own
occupation. The applicant will be directly involved in the commissioning and delivery of the
dwelling, appointing the necessary consultants and contractors to carry out the works, with the
intention that the property will serve as their primary residence upon completion.

In accordance with the definition of self/custom build housing, the applicant has had direct input
into the design and layout of the proposed dwelling. Initial sketches and design ideas were
provided by the applicant, outlining the desired form, internal arrangement, and overall appearance
of the building.
These sketches formed the basis of the architectural drawings submitted as part of
the planning application.
Our role was to interpret and formalise the applicant’s sketches into technical drawings suitable for
planning submission, ensuring that the design reflects the applicant’s original intentions while
complying with planning requirements and relevant regulations.

The design and layout of the dwelling therefore reflect the applicant’s personal requirements and
design preferences, demonstrating their direct involvement in shaping the proposal in line with the
definition of a self/custom build dwelling
