The Babergh housing stock contructed along the Nayland Rd comprises of Tawneys Rise and Claypits Avenue

I have always thought the "entire" estate was constructed by a Melford District Council authorised contractor

However, I have been donated plans indicating the estate may have been built by several different Building Companies

The Plan below was submitted by Melford DC to Messrs Pudneys at Colne Engaine to quote for the building the first of ten properties
The ten properties are highlighted and the remaing stocl allocated their position

When the plans were drawn up in 1964, the roads had still not been allocated a name

Although Pudney`s tendered for the work, it`s not known if they were the succesful bidders.
