August 1961 - Suffolk Free Press reports the closure of the Dye Works

23rd January 1964, Factory totally destroyed by Fire

The fire was so fierce the could be seen approaching the village from the top of Wormingford Hill.
Rebuilt a year later and reopened as "The Cornard Knitting Mills"
